Spiritual Development
Just like those first disciples, people who respond to Jesus' invitation to follow him find themselves on a journey of a lifetime - a journey of personal transformation into all that God intended each one of us to be.
At WCC we have a number of resources to facilitate this journey of spiritual growth and development.
A one to one course with a mentor specifically designed for those new to the Christian faith - those who have chosen to become a follower of Christ. Each of the 7 studies is themed on a line from The Lord's Prayer:
- Our Father: A Life Reborn
- May your name be kept Holy: A Life of Worship
- May your Kingdom come soon: A Life in Perspective
- Give us today the food we need: A Life of Radical Trust
- Forgive us our Sins: A Life of Forgiveness
- And lead us not into temptation: A Life Empowered
Those who want to put down their roots in Watford Community Church - who consider WCC their "spiritual home," and who want to play an active role in the life of the church, are invited to take part in a course called Growing Together. Taking place over three evenings, the vision and values of the church are discussed and those attending are invited to see how their unique gifts and abilities can be applied so that we can all play our part in serving God.

next steps is a major new discipleship course which will be launched at September’s Vision Feast.
Following on from first steps, this 6 part interactive small group course will help those growing in their faith to make sense of the journey ahead.

A programme of Sunday evening classes running throughout the year.
It is aimed at those who wish to have a greater understanding of the Word of God, grapple with serious issues effecting their faith and wonder how it can all make sense and be applied to the world of their everyday lives. In previous years we have looked at such issues as:
- The Mission of Jesus
- Science and the Bible
- Life After Death
- The letter of James: True Faith Works
At WCC we encourage people to form a prayer-triplet - 3 people who commit to meeting regularly to pray for one-another and for issues concerning them.
