To the nations... international outreach
We have a long history of active involvement in other nations; our vision to bring help and hope to others goes far beyond the boundaries of Watford.
We are currently actively involved in the following nations:
- Burkina Faso, West Africa - through the Bama School Project (see below) as well as links with AoG churches there and our own church-planting missionary there, Daniel Ouedraogo
- Slovakia, Eastern Europe - we support Michal and Lubi Kluciar in their pioneering work to plant a church in the market town of Zlate Moravce CLICK HERE for their latest newsletter
- Ethiopia, East africa - we continue to invest in the ministry of Teklu Wolde and the work of Ten Forty Ministries, a strategic ministry
- Sierra Leone, West Africa - we sponsor and support a church and mission leader there, Georgiana Kargbo
We are also connected with key international ministries that facilitate leadership training in a number of nations:
Ron and Gretel Hibbert, East-West Ministries - For the last 30 years Ron has been travelling widely offering apostolic input and leadership training for leaders and churches in over 40 different nations.
Robin Sanderson continues to visit Ethiopia bringing Bible teaching and encouragement to the church there; Robin also teaches at the International Bible Training Institute in Burgess Hill, training foreign nationals.

Milestones
In 2004, sufficient funds were donated by the members of Watford Community Church (WCC) to build a primary school in the remote village of Bama in Burkina Faso.
A year later (2005), the school opened it's doors to the first intake of 24 children and came under the jurisdiction of a regional board of education. In the same year WCC began a child sponsorship scheme.
By 2006, the new intake had grown to 60, which increased the following year (2007) to it's capacity of 70 and again in 2008.
2009 will see the completion of a further two classrooms enabling the school to reach it's goal of providing a 6 year educational program for over 400 children by 2010.
Once a year, Bama School Project Co-ordinators make a visit to the school to hand deliver sponsorship funds, educational resources and photograph the children for the sponsorship program.
It costs just £25 a year to sponsor a child. This money helps cover the cost of salaries for the school staff, utility bills and curriculum resources.
If you would like to join a growing number of individuals, Schools and Churches up and down the country who are sponsoring children, please get in touch with:
